This Privacy Policy describes how Perimenopause.com LLC ("Perimenopause.com," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit perimenopause.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Email address. When you request our free perimenopause report, subscribe to our newsletter, or complete an opt-in form, we ask for your email address.
• Self-assessment responses. When you take our Is This Perimenopause? self-assessment, your detailed answers (the individual symptoms you select and their severity) are processed in your browser and stored only on your device. If you provide your email at the end of the assessment, a summary of your results — your age range, the number of symptoms you selected, your top symptom category, and an overall pattern indicator — is associated with your email address so that we can personalize your report. Your individual symptom selections are not transmitted to our email provider.
• Messages you send us. If you contact us by email, we keep your message and our response.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data. When you visit the Site, our hosting provider may log standard information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you view, the time of your visit, and the referring URL.
• Cookies and similar technologies. We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and understand aggregated traffic patterns. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some Site features.

What we do not collect

We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government identifiers, payment card numbers, precise geolocation, or biometric identifiers. We also do not act as a healthcare provider, and the Site does not function as a medical record or treatment platform.

3. We are not a HIPAA covered entity

Perimenopause.com is an educational website. We do not provide medical care, diagnosis, prescriptions, or treatment. As a result, the information you share with us is not Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA, and Perimenopause.com is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate. The self-assessment is an educational tool, not a clinical or diagnostic instrument.

4. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Send you the personalized report, guide, or content you requested.
• Send our email newsletter and related educational content, if you've opted in.
• Personalize the content of those emails based on the categories you selected in the assessment.
• Operate, secure, and improve the Site and our tools.
• Understand aggregated usage patterns to inform our editorial decisions.
• Comply with applicable law and protect against fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email address with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only with the limited service providers we rely on to operate the Site:

• Kit (Kit.com, Inc.) — our email service provider, used to store subscriber lists, deliver email, and segment subscribers based on assessment data. See kit.com/privacy.
• Cloudflare Pages — our website hosting and content delivery provider. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Perimenopause.com or others.

6. Email communications

When you submit your email, you consent to receive the resource you requested and related educational email from us. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Unsubscribing removes you from active sequences and our newsletter; we may retain a record of your prior subscription for legal and operational purposes (see Data Retention below).

7. Data retention

We keep your email address and associated assessment data for as long as you remain an active subscriber, and for a reasonable period after you unsubscribe to confirm the unsubscribe and prevent accidental re-enrollment. If you ask us to delete your data, we will remove it from our records and from Kit within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information.
• Opt out of email — unsubscribe from any email at any time.
• Opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, but you may still confirm that with us.
• Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@perimenopause.com from the email address associated with your subscription. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the rights listed above and the additional right to know the categories of personal information we have collected, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it. The categories of personal information we collect are listed in Section 2, and the third parties with whom we share are listed in Section 5. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

EU/UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the legal bases on which we process your personal data are your consent (for marketing email), our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Site, and legal obligations where applicable. You have the rights listed above, plus the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

9. Children

The Site is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Links to third-party sites

The Site may link to third-party websites that we do not operate, including medical authority sources (NAMS, ACOG, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic) and resources for further reading. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites; please review their own privacy practices before sharing any information with them.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide more prominent notice (for example, by email or a Site notification) before they take effect.
